Manage Bulk Liquids and Waste Fluids

Four classes of bulk fluid liquids are used for slide washing and reagent dilution steps: water soluble,

alcohol, trace metal, and combined dye. In addition, four waste fluid bottles are provided in both 1.7 L

and 4 L capacity.

Before you start the run, you must manually assign your bulk liquid bottles and waste fluid bottles.

IMPORTANT There are no automated sensors to measure the amount of fluid in

the bulk liquid bottles. The amount of fluid has to be entered by the user. The

Instrument counts the dispenses and subtracts this from the total amount entered.

Thus, you always have to enter the amount of bulk liquid manually at the start

of the run.

Assign Bulk Liquids

1. Select one of the Bulk Liquid Bottles shown in the Instruments Tab. The Artisan Link

Bulk Fluids screen displays.

2. Select the bottle size for the bulk fluid bottle you want to use:

 Place your cursor in the bottle and right click.

 Select a liter amount option on the pop-up menu.

3. Click the Replace button above the bottle you want to change. The Artisan Link Bulk Fluid

dialog box appears with the current information for the selected bottle.
